A West Columbia Thai restaurant reopens after a temporary closure. What to know
A restaurant known for Asian flavors that had recently closed is reopening its doors.
Thai Delicacies, located at 1213 Sunset Blvd. in West Columbia, announced its reopening in a March 16 social media post.
“We are reopening today,” the business said on Facebook. “Thank you for your patience and kindness while we took time to mourn the loss of our aunt. We appreciate your support and look forward to serving you again.”
The Thai restaurant had previously been shuttered for about a week, with a note on the door on March 10 saying that it was “closed until further notice.”
Thai Delicacies opened in June 2025 in the spot that previously was home to other restaurants, including Olde Country Buffet and JackSon’s Southern Kitchen. Thai Delicacies’ menu includes offerings such as pad kee mao, pad Thai, basil fried rice, stir fry and more.
The restaurant is located along a high-traffic West Columbia thoroughfare, a couple blocks away from Brookland Baptist Church. About 23,000 cars per day travel that stretch of Sunset Boulevard, per state Department of Transportation records.
