A well-known national restaurant is set to open the doors on a new location in a busy part of Irmo.

Chipotle Mexican Grill, a popular chain with restaurants across the U.S., will debut a new location on Tuesday, April 14 at 1069 Dutch Fork Road, according to an email from the company. The restaurant is next door to the Ballentine Family YMCA and just down the street from a Walmart store.

The new Chipotle, which will be open from 10:45 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, will feature the company’s drive-thru “Chipotlane” and will also offer dine-in service. The opening will also feature some limited-time menu options, including chicken al pastor and cilantro lime sauce.

The new Chipotle is located along a bustling thoroughfare. Located northwest of Interstate 26, near Lake Murray, about 28,000 cars per day travel down Dutch Fork Road, per state Department of Transportation data. The restaurant has entrances off Dutch Fork Road and nearby Salem Church Road.

Dutch Fork Road has increasingly been a commercial corridor in the Irmo area, with nearby businesses including the aforementioned Walmart, a Whataburger, an Aldi grocery store, a Sonic Drive-in, Sumo Sushi and Hibachi, and many other retailers. Waffle House also is building a new location along Dutch Fork Road.

There are more than 4,000 Chipotle locations in the U.S., according to data website ScrapeHero. The menu at Chipotle is highlighted by prodigiously stuffed burritos, as well as tacos, bowls and more.
