A new spot for children’s apparel and more is headed to a busy area in Lexington.

Bougie Kids Consignment will open at 5140 Sunset Boulevard in the Palmetto Plaza shopping center, according to a recent release from commercial real estate firm Colliers South Carolina. Palmetto Plaza is home to a number of businesses, including Clara & Ray’s Italian restaurant and Palm Berries acai bowl and smoothie shop, among others.

Bougie Kids Consignment will occupy a 2,550-square-foot space in the plaza and, per the release, will look to “meet the demand for an upscale, year-round children’s consignment store in Lexington.” The release noted the boutique shop will “offer a carefully curated selection of premium and designer children’s clothing, giving families access to elevated, affordable and sustainable” fashions and styles.

“We’re excited to bring families a refined consignment experience where beautiful pieces find new life, and every child can shine,” Bougie Kids owner Janice Wood said in the release, adding that the shop will have a grand opening celebration June 2-6.

Bougie Kids Consignment also has been touting its June 2 to 6 opening week on social media, with a recent Facebook post trumpeting that the store will offer “stylish children’s clothing, adorable shoes, baby gear, strollers, diaper bags, bassinets, and more.”

The consignment shop will join a high-traffic, busy commercial corridor along Sunset Boulevard in Lexington, one lined with stores, supermarkets, restaurants and many other businesses. More than 45,000 cars per day travel down that stretch of Sunset Boulevard, per state Department of Transportation statistics, making it one of the busiest non-interstate roads in the Midlands.
