Pedestrian suffers broken bones in crash in downtown Columbia

Police are investigating a crash that injured a pedestrian in downtown Columbia late Sunday night.

The incident occured at the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and Marion Street, according to the Columbia Police Department. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital for treatment of broken bones and bruises.

Officials said Monday morning the pedestrian was in the roadway unlawfully.

This crash comes on the heels of one just a couple blocks away, at the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and Main Street on Thursday, where a pedestrian was killed in a wreck with a cement truck.
