Coroner IDs victim of fatal shooting at Columbia apartment complex
Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred at an apartment complex late Wednesday night.
Migeal Ravenell, 23, died at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital late Thursday afternoon, according to Watts.
Watts said an autopsy conducted Friday morning shows that Ravenell died from complications of a gunshot wound to the head.
The shooting happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday at the North Pointe Estates apartment complex, which is on Ripplemeyer Avenue, according to Columbia police.
Police officers have arrested two suspects in connection with the shooting, according to Jennifer Timmons, a Columbia Police Department spokeswoman.
Kumasi Shamir Lewis, 21, had been charged Wednesday with attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. A murder warrant was being sought against him Thursday,Timmons said.
The second suspect, Rolland Donall Graves Jr., was arrested Thursday.
