Columbia police arrest suspect in Garners Ferry shooting

Columbia police have charged a man in connection with a Tuesday afternoon shooting on Garners Ferry Road.

David Robinson, 28, has been charged with breach of peace of a high and aggravated nature and unlawful carrying of a pistol, according to department spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons.

Robinson is accused of arguing and fighting with a man before the shooting occurred in the 7700 block of Garners Ferry Road, Timmons said. Robinson was arrested a short time after the shooting near Patricia Drive.

One man was shot and taken to the hospital, police said.
