Three months after the bodies of his mother and grandmother were found in their home, a South Carolina man has been charged with murder in their deaths.

Bradley Carter Aldrich, who has been behind bars since May 6 for attempted murder and other crimes, was charged Monday with two counts of murder, according to Anderson County Detention Center records.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office reported finding the bodies of Aldrich’s mother, Theresa Lucille Wright, and grandmother, Judith Hilley Calvert, in their Anderson home May 6, WSPA reported.

According to arrest warrants, Aldrich shot his 50-year-old mother and his 77-year-old grandmother “in the head with a small-caliber handgun,” after beating, strangling and stabbing them, per WYFF-4.

In addition to the murder charges, Aldrich also faces two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime in the death of his mother and grandmother, jail records show.

Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore estimated Wright and Calvert were killed late at night May 5, or in the early morning hours May 6, according to the Independent Mail.

Aldrich was arrested May 6, after police responded to a shots fired call and found a man who had been shot in the chest, leg and arm, foxcarolina.com reported.

According to jail records, Aldrich was charged with attempted murder, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of resisting arrest from that incident.

No bond was set for Aldrich, who remained in the Anderson County Detention Center when he the new charges were filed.
