Coroner’s officials have identified the man who was shot and killed at a Columbia home early Monday.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts identified the victim as 25-year-old Traon Davis, according to a statement from the Columbia Police Department.

The shooting happened just after 3 a.m. on the 300 block of McRae Street, according to a Columbia police spokesman. That’s just off U.S. 176 and next to the Columbia Canal.

Davis was shot in the upper body, according to the statement.

Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident.

Police investigators are still trying to determine what led up to the deadly shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 888-CRIME-SC. Callers will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
