Florida woman fatally shot at Columbia bar identified by Richland County coroner

A woman was shot to death outside a bar on Fairfield Road in Columbia Sunday morning.

Joyel T. Snell, 45, of Fort Myers, Florida was killed, Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford said Monday.

The Richland County Sheriffs Department is investigating and released limited details about the shooting.

They said they responded to 7708 Fairfield Road, the address for Felicity’s Bar and Grill. That’s about 3 miles from Exit 70 on Interstate 20.

Snell was in front of the bar with a gunshot wound to her upper body, according to the sheriff’s department. She was taken by EMS to a local hospital where she died.

No other injuries were reported.

There is no word on a shooter, or shooters, or a motive for the gunfire.

“This is an ongoing investigation and additional information will be released when it becomes available,” the sheriff’s department said in a news release.
