Person shot multiple times at private club in Richland County, deputies say
A person was hospitalized after being shot multiple times, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
At about 7 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to reports of a shooting at 3860 Leesburg Road, the sheriff’s department said in a news release. That’s Barb’s Hideaway, a bar that is described as a “private club” on its Facebook page.
When they arrived, deputies found a shooting victim, and EMS took the person to an area hospital. Further information on the victim’s condition was not available.
There was no word if the shooting happened inside the bar, or in the area nearby.
No other injuries were reported.
Information about a shooter, or shooters, or any motive for the gunfire was not available.
No arrests have been reported by the sheriff’s department, which is continuing to investigate the shooting. The sheriff’s department said the shooting is believed to be an “isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.”

This is the most recent of several shootings reported in Richland County in the past week. Other incidents include a Friday shooting in Columbia where one man died and another was injured, according to police.
At about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s department reported a person died in a shooting on Hardscrabble Road outside of a shopping center that has a Food Lion grocery store and several other businesses.
In another incident on Sunday morning, the sheriff’s department said a man was shot and killed on Kneece Road, which is just east of Decker Boulevard in northeast Columbia.
