Teenager killed in overnight shooting at motel, South Carolina coroner says

A teenager was shot and killed late Friday at a South Carolina motel, according to the Pickens County Coroner’s Office.

Robert Preston Crawford, 17, was shot at the Sun Inn in the 4000 block of Calhoun Memorial Highway in Easley, Coroner Kandy Kelly said in a news release.

Crawford died at the scene, according to the release.

No other injuries were reported.

Kelly called the teen’s death a homicide.

There was no word about a shooter or shooters, or whether anyone else was involved in the gunfire. Information about a motive for the shooting was not available.

No arrests have been reported by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the death.
