Chase leads to multiple arrests but another man is still wanted, SC sheriff says

A recent chase involving a stolen SUV led to the arrest of two South Carolina men, but a third man involved in the incident is still wanted, according to the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office.

Newberry residents Tyleik Jaeqwon Sanders, 20, and Quattro Keazzhie Sanders, 22, were separately taken into custody, the sheriff’s office said Monday in a news release.

They, along with 23-year-old Jamarius Tyreek Wilson, were involved in a “wide ranging chase,” the sheriff’s office said. Wilson is wanted in connection with the incident, according to the release.

On May 16, deputies learned a 2025 Range Rover stolen from Greenville was in Newberry County, the sheriff’s office said. A deputy saw the SUV on Whitner Road, near U.S. 76, and tried to perform a traffic stop, according to the release.

The driver did not pull over, and instead sped away, which led to the pursuit, the sheriff’s office said. The chase ended when the driver abandoned the vehicle on Tripod Road, off of Shrine Club Road, according to the release. That’s about 5 miles from where the pursuit began.

Information about who was driving the vehicle was not available.

Three occupants in the stolen vehicle, later identified as Tyleik and Quattro Sanders as well as Wilson, ran into a wooded area, the sheriff’s office said. Although South Carolina Law Enforcement Division K-9 teams and the sheriff’s office were involved in a search, which also included aviation assets, the trail ended near the Fast Stop gas station/convenience store on CR Koon Highway, according to the release.

No injuries were reported.

During an investigation, deputies determined the three individuals from Newberry County had stolen the vehicle in Greenville and came to Newberry, the sheriff’s office said.

Information about where and when Tyleik and Quattro Sanders each were arrested was not available, but the sheriff’s office said both were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and failing to stop for a law enforcement officer.

Tyleik Sanders was booked into the Newberry County Detention Center on May 21, jail records show. Bond was set at $5,000 and he was released May 24, according to jail records.

Information about Quattro Sanders’ bond status was not available, but he is not listed on the jail’s inmate roster.

The Greenville City Police Department is leading an investigation into the theft of the new Range Rover, according to the release.

Anyone who has seen Wilson, or has information about him, is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 803-321-2222, CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC or submit a tip online.
