Teen arrested after 21-year-old SC man killed in shooting, sheriff says

A 21-year-old South Carolina man recently was shot and killed and now a teenager has been charged with murder, according to Orangeburg County officials.

Cope resident Alexander Bloodworth died at the scene of the a July 31 shooting, Orangeburg County Coroner Sean Fogle said.

The shooting happened at about 9 p.m. in the 100 Block of Navy Drive, which is in Orangeburg, according to the coroner’s office.

A female was also shot, according to the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office. Information on her condition was not available.

Trivinci Mack, 19, was charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, the sheriff’s office said.

There was no word about a motive for the shooting.

“Any way you look at it, it does not make any sense whatsoever,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said in a news release. “One person is gone, and another threw his life away. And for what? Nothing.”

No bond has been set for Mack, and the Orangeburg resident is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 10, Orangeburg County judicial records show.

Mack was out on bond when Bloodworth was fatally shot, according to court records.

On Jan. 30, 2024, Mack was arrested on a second-degree domestic violence charge, court records show. He posted a $5,000 bond the same day and that 2024 charge is pending, according to court records.

An autopsy was scheduled to be performed Monday on Bloodworth, who was found on the ground by deputies, officials said.
