South Carolina police searching for armed person who robbed US Post Office
A U.S. Post Office in South Carolina was recently robbed at gunpoint, and there’s a search for the armed suspect, according to the Columbia Police Department.
The armed robbery happened Tuesday at the Eau Claire Post Office on Lamar Street, police said in a news release. That’s in a part of Columbia near the intersection of North Main Street and Monticello Road.
No one was injured in the robbery, according to police.
Information about what was stolen was not available.
Police said the robbery suspect was wearing a dark jacket, face mask and dark sunglasses to conceal their identity. The suspect was carrying a black bag with a red, yellow and orange stripe, according to police.
The robbery is being investigated by both police and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
They’re asking for anyone with information about the robbery to call 877-876-2455, and reference case 4631102.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the armed robber.
