Four arrested after domestic dispute escalated into a shooting, SC sheriff says
Four people were arrested over the weekend in South Carolina after a domestic dispute escalated into a shooting, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Sumter residents Jaheim Rakel Abrams, 23, Willie Abrams Jr., 43, Adre’anna Singleton, 18, and Alasysia Titeanna Singleton, 25, each were charged with malicious injury to personal property (more than $2,000 but less than $10,000) and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain crimes, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
All four of the adults were booked into the Sumter County Sheriff’s office detention center and have since been released after posting bond, according to the release.
The shooting happened Saturday, the sheriff’s office said.
On Saturday morning, deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute at an Edgehill Road home, according to the release. That’s next to the western perimeter of Shaw Air Force Base.
Information about the cause of the dispute, and if anyone else was involved, was not available.
Law enforcement officers left the home, but about an hour later, deputies were dispatched again after receiving information that the dispute was continuing, the sheriff’s office said. While en route, deputies learned the incident had become violent and that shots had been fired, according to the release.
When they returned, deputies discovered that the individuals involved vandalized and shot into each other’s unoccupied vehicles, the sheriff’s office said.
No injuries were reported, and no other vehicles or structures were damaged by gunfire, according to the release.
There was no word about how the four people who were arrested were acquainted.
