Multiple people detained after gunfire erupts at party in SC, police say
A Saturday night party in South Carolina ended in a shooting, according to the Columbia Police Department.
Just before 9 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Vista Towers apartment complex, police said on social media. That’s in the Vista area of downtown Columbia, near I-126’s Huger Street exit and Elmwood Avenue.
The shooting happened at a party at the apartment complex, according to police.
No injuries were reported in the shooting.
Several people were detained by police, but no arrests have been reported. Officers collected multiple items as evidence and are continuing to investigate the shooting.
Information about the shooter, or shooters, and how many people were involved, was not available. There was no word on a motive for the gunfire.
