Search for three people Columbia police say were involved in drive-by shooting
A search is underway for three people who were involved in a recent drive-by shooting in South Carolina, according to the Columbia Police Department.
The shooting happened Dec. 29, 2025, but police only publicly asked for help with information leading to the gunmen Wednesday.
Just before the end of 2025, three people fired multiple rounds from a moving vehicle in the 600 block of Rawl Street, police said. That’s not far from the downtown area of Columbia, near the Prisma Health Richland hospital complex.
No injuries were reported in the drive-by shooting, but property was damaged, according to police.
Information about the shooters, and how many people were involved, was not available. There was no word on a motive for the gunfire.
Police said that the car used in the drive-by was a white Honda Accord, which was stolen from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department’s jurisdiction. The car has since been recovered, but no arrests have been reported, according to police.
Anyone with information about the shooting, or has information about those involved, is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC or submit an online tip.
