Woman got sexually explicit picture of teen and extorted the minor, SC cops say

A Midlands woman was arrested Wednesday after she sexually extorted a teenager, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

Alexis Shantel Parker, a 32-year-old St. Matthews resident, was charged with aggravated felony sexual extortion, SLED said Thursday in a news release.

Parker obtained a sexually explicit video or image of the 15-year-old victim, an arrest warrant said. There was no word about how Parker came to possess the sexually explicit material.

On Dec. 19, 2025, Parker demanded money from the minor, according to the arrest warrant. Information about the amount of money was not available.

If the teen paid , Parker would delete the sexually explicit material, the arrest warrant said. But if she did not receive the money, Parker would post the content online, according to the arrest warrant.

There was no word if there was any prior connection between Parker and the victim.

SLED, which was asked to lead an investigation by the St. Matthews Police Department, said an interview with an adult witness as well as forensic interviews of the victim and another minor confirmed Parker’s “unlawful conduct,” the arrest warrant said. That led to a search warrant to examine Parker’s phone, which provided evidence of the extortion, according to the arrest warrant.

Parker was booked into the Orangeburg County Detention Center, and she will be prosecuted by the 1st Circuit Solicitor’s Office, SLED said.

As a result of being threatened with the release of the sexually explicit video and/or picture, the victim contemplated suicide, and not returning to school, the arrest warrant said. Information about the victim’s current condition was not available.

Parker has been arrested previously, and in December 2024 she pleaded guilty to financial transaction card fraud, identity fraud, hit-and-run as well as leaving the scene of accident involving unattended vehicle, Orangeburg County court records show.

On the same day she was arrested on the sexual extortion count, Parker was also charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent (value $2,000 or less), according to court records. Bond on that charge, which is pending, was set at $1,000 and posted Thursday, court records show.
