Armed and dangerous man arrested after woman was fatally stabbed, SC cops say

The search for an armed and dangerous man in South Carolina ended with his arrest Saturday, according to the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office.

Demars Unique Tyreke Randolph Jr., was taken into custody, the sheriff’s office said.

The 25-year-old Columbia resident was wanted for his connection to a Saturday morning homicide, according to the Newberry Police Department. Information about the charges Randolph is facing was not available.

At about 1:15 a.m., officers responded to a call about a stabbing at the Bethlehem Gardens Apartment Complex on Vincent Street, police said.

At the apartment complex, officers found a woman with an apparent stab wound to the upper body, according to police. Newberry County EMS took the victim was taken to an area hospital, but she died from the injuries she suffered, police said.

The Newberry County Coroner’s Office has not publicly identified the homicide victim.

There was no word about how police connected Randolph to the deadly stabbing.

During a search for Randolph, police warned the public to stay away from the man it called armed and dangerous.

The victim’s death continues to be investigated by police.
