Arrests made in shooting death of 24-year-old Midlands man, deputies say

Two people were arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 24-year-old, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

Jamereon Rahiem Griffin, 17, of Saluda and a 16-year-old juvenile were charged with murder, criminal conspiracy and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to a news release.

The charges stem from the shooting death of Justin Bryant, who was pronounced dead at a residence in the 900 block of Kedron Church Road on April 2.

Griffin was booked into the Aiken County Detention Center, while the juvenile is being detained at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.

Despite the arrests, an investigation into the shooting remains open. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office at (803) 642-1761.
