Search for man after domestic violence attack, Lexington County sheriff says

A search is underway in South Carolina for a man wanted on multiple charges following a Wednesday morning domestic violence attack, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

Dwight Anthony Powell, 43, is wanted on two counts of possession of firearm or ammunition by person convicted of certain crimes, as well as single counts of possession of weapon during a violent crime, kidnapping and domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, the sheriff’s department said in a news release.

The charges stem from a domestic incident on Parthenon Road, according to the release. That’s in the Leesville area of Lexington County.

The sheriff’s department described Powell as 6-foot tall, 180-pound man.

Anyone who sees Powell is asked to call 911. Those with information about Powell can call CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC or submit tips online.

Powell has a criminal record and has been charged with multiple crimes over the past 25 years, Lexington County court records show.
