A Michigan woman was shocked when she saw just how much she won on a $5 scratch-off lottery ticket.

The 64-year-old woman, who chose to stay anonymous, bought a 777 Jackpot instant game at a gas station in Whitehall, according to an Oct. 11 news release from the Michigan Lottery.

“(I) hadn’t played the Lottery in a while, but I had a random urge to purchase an instant ticket one day,” the woman told lottery officials “I scratched the ticket when I got home and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I revealed a $500,000 prize! I told my husband the good news by showing him my winning ticket.”

“Winning this prize will allow me to become debt free, and that is going to be a great feeling!”

The woman said she plans to pay bills and save the rest.

After her win, two $500,000 prizes remained in the game, which was released in August, the lottery said.

Whitehall is a 55-mile drive northwest of Grand Rapids.
