Man’s ‘lazy’ morning leads to a life-changing lottery win. ‘Couldn’t stop shaking’
A Michigan man has a change to his morning routine to thank for his life-changing jackpot lottery win.
“I was lazy and didn’t make my morning coffee that day, so I stopped at 7-Eleven to buy one,” 38-year-old Kevin Abbe told Michigan Lottery officials.
The Freeland man also bought two $5 “Win Big” instant scratch-off tickets, according to an Oct. 17 news release from Michigan Lottery Connect.
“I scratched the tickets and couldn’t stop shaking,” Abbe said about seeing how much he’d won.
He scanned his ticket at the store and on his lottery app to confirm his win, according to the release.
“I yelled ‘I just won half a million dollars!’ and ran out of the store,” Abbe told lottery officials.
“Winning is unreal and still hasn’t fully sunk in,” Abbe said. “It feels like a breath of fresh air!”
Abbe told lottery officials he plans to buy a house with his prize.
Abbe’s winning ticket was purchased at a 7-Eleven in Bay City, according to the release.
Bay City is about a 115-mile drive northwest from Detroit.
