A Powerball player in Georgia won a big prize after a stop at a convenience store, lottery officials said.

A Powerball player in Georgia netted a big prize despite missing the game’s estimated $125 million jackpot.

The lucky player won $50,000 in the Powerball drawing Saturday, May 17, the Georgia Lottery said. The ticket, sold at a Food Mart in Tucker, matched four of five numbers and the Powerball number.

Officials didn’t say if the prize has been claimed as of May 20.

The winning numbers were 7-34-40-42-52 and red Powerball 15, according to the Powerball website. The Power Play multiplier option was 2X.

There were no $2 million or $1 million winners, and no one hit the jackpot, results show. The grand prize rose to an estimated $135 million for the drawing May 19 but ultimately went unclaimed.

Winners in Georgia have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes on draw games, the Georgia Lottery said. Players are encouraged to sign the back of their ticket.

Tucker is about a 20-mile drive northeast from downtown Atlanta.
