Brandon Jones recently bought a $5 Super Loteria ticket in the North Carolina Education Lottery.

When the 21-year-old U.S. Army electrical mechanical engineer scratched his ticket though, he was shocked, according to an April 25 news release from lottery officials.

“You don’t believe it at first,” Jones told officials. “It’s like a big jolt to your body, like adrenaline. Pretty cool.”

After taxes, Jones took home $106,876, according to officials. He said he plans to save some of his winnings and eventually use the rest to buy or build a house.

Jones bought his winning ticket from Home Run Market in Salisbury — about 40 miles northeast of Charlotte.
