Woman won two prizes off one South Carolina lotto ticket: $100k one day, $1 the next

A woman bought a lottery ticket last week for the Saturday drawing and ended up winning twice, according to the South Carolina Education Lottery.

She hit the jackpot the first night and won $100,000, lotto officials said. She won again the second night, but it was a much less impressive $1.

“I’m so happy,” the unnamed Charleston woman said, according to lotto officials. “This is very exciting.”

She’s going to help her family and her favorite charity with the prize money, lotto officials said in a news release.

She bought the winning ticket at a Harris Teeter in Charleston, which will get a $1,000 commission for selling the double-winner.

“The odds of winning $100,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 501,942,“ lotto officials said.
