Two lottery tickets worth $25,000 a year sold at one SC store. No one has claimed them

Two lottery tickets sold at a South Carolina store are worth thousands of dollars — but no one has claimed them.

The tickets matched enough numbers in Monday’s drawing to make them worth $25,000 each year for life, the S.C. Education Lottery said Tuesday in a news release.

At least one prize winner tried their luck at Murphy USA in the town of Cheraw, the release said. The gas station is in Chesterfield County and roughly 95 miles northeast of Columbia, near the North Carolina border.

Two tickets bought at the store beat 1-in-1.81 million odds to win big in the Lucky for Life game, according to officials.

But no one had claimed the tickets as of Tuesday afternoon, S.C. Education Lottery spokesperson Holli Armstrong told McClatchy News in an email.

The lottery in its news release urged people to their check tickets for these winning numbers: “18 - 22 - 25 - 31 – 46 Lucky Ball: 18.”

If you’re a lucky ticket holder, you still have time.

Winners have about six months to come forward, according to officials.

In the meantime, the S.C. Education Lottery has shared advice for the big winners.

“Sign the back of your ticket and put it in a safe location until you’re ready to come forward to claim the prize,” officials said. “Speak with someone you trust to help you decide whether to choose the ‘for life’ prize option or the one-time lump sum payment.”
