Woman falls from bridge onto I-26, Columbia police say
A woman fell from a bridge and landed on Interstate 26 Thursday, according to the Columbia Police Department.
At about 12:15 p.m., police said an eastbound lane on I-26, between the exits for Lake Murray Boulevard and Harbison Boulevard, was temporarily closed following the incident.
The woman was taken to an area hospital by EMS, according to police. Further information on her condition was not available.
No other injuries were reported.
There was no word about what caused the woman to fall.
By around 12:45 p.m., traffic flowed more freely along I-26 after the eastbound lane was reopened, police said.
