Overnight crash in Five Points leaves man hospitalized, Columbia police say
A Sunday morning crash in the Five Points area that left a man hospitalized has led to an investigation, according to the Columbia Police Department.
A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Harden Street and Devine Street, police said Monday in a news release.
Just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to the intersection, according to the release. That’s where a 22-year-old was driving a vehicle south on Harden Street, and as it crossed Devine Street, collided with a 40-year-old man that was walking west on Harden Street, police said.
The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition, according to the release. Further information on his condition was not available.
No other injuries were reported.
No arrests have been reported, but police said officers are processing the vehicle and are working on promising leads in the case and continue to review surveillance video.
