19 Bamberg County families in need after SC storms on Wednesday, Red Cross says
The American Red Cross of South Carolina is aiding 19 people in Bamberg County after storms damaged their homes on Wednesday.
According to a Red Cross press release, the homes of 12 people on Carver Road were damaged, along with the homes of four people on Macedonia Church Road and the homes of three people on Pocketville Road.
Red Cross disaster teams are providing the Bamberg residents with financial assistance for immediate needs such as food, clothing and shelter, along with referrals to other needed resources.
The aid comes after Red Cross assisted 15 Allendale families after a reported tornado destroyed or damaged their homes on Tuesday. Five homes were destroyed, four received major damage and six received minor damage, the Red Cross states.
Red Cross also provided those families with immediate assistance.
