Letters: Charity provides medical equipment to needy

I was interested to read the letter about Power in Changing, a non-profit that provides diapers to families who must sometimes decide between food and their baby’s needs (“Diapers can make all the difference,” Sept. 12). Those who practice charity without expectation of personal gain or recognition are the true beams of light in this crazy, scary world.

MedNeed of SC has provided medical equipment to more than 2,000 of our neediest Midlands residents over the past nine years. MedNeed’s focus is on the uninsured and indigent who can’t get the medical equipment they need through any other source.

It has provided wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds, lift chairs and much more, and has recently begun to provide diabetic supplies and incontinence supplies on an ongoing basis to many of our neediest citizens.

MedNeed of SC has received some grants from local foundations but still operates every year at a deficit. The charity can be found at medneedofsc.com. If you would like to donate equipment or money, just email medneedofsc@yahoo.com.

We would like to thank all of those who have helped to keep us going.
