Letters: No good reason to support Trump
Donald Trump is supposed to be the captain of the ship of state. Instead, he acts more like Captain Queeg of the USS Caine, substituting tweets for his lost marbles. He has no regard for the office he holds or the responsibilities as leader of the free world.
The June 29 letter “Democrats need to support Trump” concluded that we progressive, godless, liberal Democrats have pushed God to the back seat (not quite under the bus). I don’t know what this has to do with Trump, but here’s what we’re also doing: We repudiate and abhor the president’s lies, deception and demeaning of women.
There is no possibility that Democrats will support this man, and some Republicans and independents are beginning to feel the same. Our allies are perplexed, and our would-be adversaries are assessing his weak performance, demeanor and actions, hoping to capitalize.
