Neighborhood street parking isn’t just annoying; it’s dangerous
I pray that your article concerning parking on the street was a wake-up call to many (“Annoyed by neighbors who park on the street? You’re not alone,” Nov. 27).
We live in the Whitehall area of St. Andrews, and parking on the street is a problem. Never do we leave home that we do not have to drive around cars, vans and utility vehicles parked on the street. The roads are hilly, and one cannot see if there is a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction.
A few years ago, an attic storage van was parked for weeks across the street from our home. I saw vehicles almost have a head-on accident. I called the Lexington County sheriff's office, and the van was removed within three hours.
The person who had it parked there never spoke to us again. That is OK: We may have saved someone's life.
