In his Nov. 13 letter George Jackson asks us to consider, “What if that was your daughter?” in the Spring Valley High School classroom.

If my son or daughter ever behaved like that in class and the result was an administrative or police confrontation, even as severe as this one was, the following would occur:

1. My child would lose all internet and phone capabilities until he/she could pay for them with a job.

2. My child would write and possibly publicly at school make an apology to the teacher, administrators and police officer for causing the problem with his/her disrespect to authority.

3. I would have to consider that I had failed as a parent, and maybe my child would have to attend an alternative school with stronger discipline.
