South Carolina baseball announces full 2024 schedule. Clemson series locked in
The Gamecocks baseball schedule is done. Let the countdown to Opening Day begin.
USC baseball announced its full nonconference schedule Monday afternoon, including details about the USC-Clemson series. South Carolina’s conference schedule was finalized in September, and head coach Mark Kingston said he was finalizing the nonconference slate throughout fall ball.
USC has two neutral-site games at minor league stadiums on March 12 and April 9. The Gamecocks take on Sun Belt’s Georgia State March 12 at SRP Park in North Augusta where the Augusta Greenjackets play. April 9 is a battle against UNC in Charlotte at Truist Field, where the Knights play.
South Carolina plays its neutral-site game against Clemson at Segra Park in Columbia on March 2. The location of that third game of the series was unclear as of early November. The series begins in Columbia on March 1 and wraps up in Clemson on March 3.
The Gamecocks start the season with a 10-game homestand, beginning with a three-game series against Miami (Ohio) Feb. 16-18, and ending with the series opener against Clemson. The Opening Day game begins at 4 p.m. Feb. 16 at Founders Park.
USC has a midweek matchup against Queens between the two series, and the first game of a home-and-home series against Winthrop. The follow up game comes at the end of the regular season, May 7.
One tough nonconference stretch includes a home game against Georgia Southern and the neutral-site game against UNC on April 3 and 9. Both games are right in the weeds of SEC ball, after USC faces Alabama in Tuscaloosa and hosts Texas A&M.
South Carolina finished the 2023 season in the NCAA Super Regionals, falling to No. 2 Florida in two games. Kingston signed a contract extension through 2027 following the Gamecocks’ 42-21 overall record (16-13 SEC) last season.
