Gamecocks football starter indicates his NFL plans

South Carolina appears to be getting one of the anchors of its offensive line back for one more season.

Tackle/guard Sadarius Hutcherson tweeted “one more year” on Sunday. The week prior, he said he’d be pushing his NFL decision back until after the season, which ended Saturday against Clemson.

Wide receiver Shi Smith said after the season finale he’s 100 percent coming back. Word hasn’t come out yet about tight end Kyle Markway or the plans of former starting QB Jake Bentley.

Hutcherson started the past two seasons and part of the previous one. He was a tackle when he arrived on campus, moved inside to guard and then moved back outside to left tackle this season.

His return means USC will have back four starting offensive linemen, plus a pair of freshmen who started games in Jakai Moore and Jaylen Nichols.

Hutcherson walked on senior day, as did Bentley and Markway. USC coach WIll Muschamp said he’d have a discussion with Bentley, and Markway didn’t indicate any plans when last asked.

Markway has the option to play a sixth season, and he blossomed into a viable starter, even with a thin tight end room around him.
