All-American JUCO running back posts he’s committed to South Carolina football
South Carolina football might have a third running back as part of its 2020 recruiting class, but it’s not 100 percent clear.
Junior college runner ZaQuandre White posted on Instagarm he committed to the Gamecocks on Thursday evening, joining composite four-star MarShawn Lloyd and Georgia product Rashad Amos. As of 9 p.m., USC coach Will Muschamp has yet to tweet out a #SpursUp to confirm the commitment.
The Gamecocks offered the Iowa Western runner in the past few months.
He ran for 876 yards and 10 touchdowns in eight games this season. A bounce back from Florida State and former four-star recruit, he played linebacker in Tallahassee, but finished second in the country in rushing yards per game on the junior college level.
The 6-foot, 210 pounder is the No. 6 running back in the JUCO ranks per the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s the top-rated running back. He carried offers from Tennessee and Arkansas.
He, Amos and Lloyd would help the team address an exodus of backfield talent this season. USC is losing its top three runners in Rico Dowdle, Mon Denson and Tavien Feaster, plus A.J. Turner, who had 1,322 rushing yards from 2016-18 before playing corner and being used sparingly in the backfield in 2019.
