South Carolina losing two more players as transfer portal officially opens

Just over nine hours after the transfer portal officially opened, word came in that South Carolina was likely to lose its first offensive lineman of this cycle.

According to a report by GamecockCentral, South Carolina redshirt sophomore JonDarius Morgan plans to enter the transfer portal.

In his three seasons with the Gamecocks, Morgan did not get much playing time. He saw a little action late in the season, running onto the field when South Carolina called for a package with an extra blocker. Even with all the offensive line injuries this season, Morgan did not earn a start.

The Birmingham product arrived in Columbia as part of the 2021 class that was recruited by Will Muschamp and signed by Shane Beamer.

The 20-year-old will enter the transfer portal with two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Also joining the portal is defensive back Isaiah Norris, who announced his decision on X (Twitter) on Monday morning.

Three years ago, Norris flipped from Middle Tennessee State to South Carolina on Christmas Day and became the first USC commit in the Shane Beamer era.

The former two-way standout at T.L. Hanna High, Norris initially went to junior college, first at the New Mexico Military Institute and then Georgia Military College.

During his three seasons in Columbia, the 5-foot-11, 183-pounder failed to make an impact, playing in just nine games and notching one total tackle

Now as a graduate transfer, Norris says will enter the portal with two years of eligibility remaining.
