South Carolina bolsters offensive line with transfer from Oklahoma
South Carolina football beefed up its offensive line with another transfer.
Oklahoma’s Aaryn “AJ” Parks committed Sunday to play for Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks. Beamer recruited Parks out of high school when he was an assistant with the Sooners.
Parks visited USC over the weekend and also visited Syracuse.
“Columbia Wadduppp . Let’s Work. Can’t Wait To Get There Later In The Week,” Parks posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Parks will have two years of eligibility left. The 6-foot-4, 301-pounder appeared in eight games as a reserve the past two seasons for the Sooners, including three this year.
Parks is the second offensive lineman added through the portal, joining North Carolina Central’s Torricelli Simpkins. The Gamecocks also signed three-high profile in-state high school prospects in Dillon’s Josiah Thompson, Woodland’s Kam Pringle and Greenville’s Blake Franks.
Parks was ranked as a four-star prospect coming out of high school in Maryland. He had offers from Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, Pittsburgh and Penn State, among others. He originally committed to Penn State before changing it to Oklahoma.
