South Carolina gets commitment from four-star defensive lineman from Durham, NC
After narrow recruiting misses in the last week, South Carolina football earned a big commitment Wednesday.
Four-star defensive lineman Noah Clark announced his pledge to the Gamecocks. Per the 247 Sports’ Composite Rankings, Clark is a Top-300 player in the nation, a Top-35 defensive lineman and the No. 13 prospect from North Carolina.
The news comes on the heels of South Carolina landing four-star wide receiver Sequel Patterson less than a week ago, boosting South Carolina’s number of 2026 commitments to 10. Clark is the Gamecocks’ second defensive line commitment, joining four-star Aiden Harris, who’s also from North Carolina.
Of South Carolina’s 10 commitments in the 2026 class, eight are from the Carolinas.
Clark, a 6-foot-4, 330-pound prospect out of C.E. Jordan High School in Durham, narrowed his recruitment to South Carolina, N.C. State, Virginia and Virginia Tech before announcing he was becoming a Gamecock.
It’s been a slower recruiting cycle so far for South Carolina. Although the Gamecocks remained involved with plenty of prospects and should see some movement later this summer, USC’s 2026 class currently ranks No. 51 nationally and 14th in the SEC.
USC has landed quality players, though. The average ranking of Gamecocks recruit so far is 91.18 out of 100 on the 247Sports composite. That ranks No. 10 nationally.
