South Carolina loses eighth O-lineman to transfer portal, reports say
Shane Beamer and the South Carolina football team lost another offensive lineman to the transfer portal on Sunday.
Redshirt sophomore Jatavius Shivers entered the portal, reported by On3’s Pete Nakos as well as 247Sports.
Shivers is the latest in a mass exodus of the South Carolina ofensive line room. He’s the eighth scholarship player at the position to enter the portal. Meanwhile, Beamer and the Gamecocks have picked up six transfers at the position already.
Shivers was mainly a reserve during his time with the Gamecocks. He redshirted and was on the scout team in 2023, played in eight games in 2024 (and even saw action as a tight end late in the season) and played in seven games in 2025.
The 6-foot-6, 325-pound Georgia product played 81 snaps in 2025 for South Carolina, per Pro Football Focus. That number was down from 129 the prior season.
