Three-star tight end from Tennessee commits to South Carolina
South Carolina’s continues to load up its 2027 recruiting class.
On Friday, the Gamecocks landed their fourth pledge this week, gaining a commitment from three-star tight end Judah Lancaster.
The 6-foot-4, 231-pound prospect from Brentwood, Tennessee took a visit to South Carolina in March and bought into the vision laid out by head coach Shane Beamer.
“They’ve been in the mix since the beginning of my junior year,” Lancaster told Rivals’ Chas Simmons. “They came to see me practice, had a plan for me and stuck with it. How they recruited me, how consistent they were, and how they want to use me made a big impact on me.
“How the coaches treat me and the feeling on that visit,” Lancaster added, “put South Carolina on top. I love the atmosphere and the competition too. Playing in that stadium in the SEC — you can’t beat it.”
Per the 247 Sports’ Composite Rankings, Lancaster is a Top-800 recruit and No. 41 tight end in the nation.
Of the six commits in the 2027 recruiting class, Lancaster becomes the second pass catcher brought in by the Gamecocks — joining receiver DJ Huggins, who committed on Friday.
