Ajiboye leaves problems in the past
INDIANAPOLIS | Former South Carolina defensive tackle Ladi Ajiboye met with the media Saturday morning at the NFL Combine.
Ajiboye made a good impression and was blunt about his past problems in Columbia, saying his three-game suspension in 2009 was due to a pair of failed drug tests.
“The first one being that I didn’t take it, and that counted as a fail, and the second one I finally did take it and that was the second fail,” he said.
Ajiboye tested positive for marijuana, he said, but he added he has not used drugs since.
Ajiboye is sure to be questioned on the subject by NFL officials here, and he’s happy to answer, he said.
“I have been getting questioned since I was back in school,” he said. “I learned from it; it’s in the past. I had a whole year to make everybody believe that I learned my ways and I did. If I would have come out my junior season it probably would (have hurt), but I had a whole ’nother year to make everybody believe I learned my ways and I did.
"I didn’t get in any trouble my senior season. It’s all in the past I believe.”
Ajiboye was named a captain for the Gamecocks in 2010.
