Nick Pringle has made his decision.

The South Carolina forward announced Monday that he won’t be returning to the Gamecocks for his sixth season of college basketball. He will hit the transfer portal again, a source with knowledge of the situation told The State.

On3 Sports was the first to report the news, adding that Pringle also plans to enter his name into the 2025 NBA Draft pool to get feedback from scouts.

Monday was the first day that men’s basketball players could officially enter the 30-day transfer portal window.

Pringle becomes the latest member from this year’s Gamecocks’ squad who won’t be returning. Austin Herro, Arden Conyers and Zach Davis are all expected to transfer.

South Carolina also will lose three players to graduation — Jacobi Wright, Jamarii Thomas and Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk. Rising junior forward and All-SEC honoree Collin Murray-Boyles also might leave early for the NBA Draft.

The Gamecocks went 12-20 this season, a year after making the NCAA Tournament, and were 2-16 in SEC play, the worst record among the league’s 16 teams.

Pringle discussed his possible decision after the Gamecocks were eliminated by Arkansas from the Southeastern Conference Tournament.

“I just wanted to finish the season out strong and just talk to Coach Paris about it and see what’s next for me,” Pringle said from USC’s locker room on March 12 in Nashville, Tennessee. “I definitely want to be here. Just want to sit down and talk to him and, you know, just dig into details for real and just try to make it happen.”

South Carolina was the fourth stop for Pringle, an in-state recruit who played at Whale Branch High School. He began his career at Wofford before going to Dodge City Community College and then Alabama. He transferred to play for Lamont Paris ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Pringle (6-foot-10, 220 pounds) started all 32 games for USC and averaged 9.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. He shot 57.2% from the field and 65.5% on free throws.
