A look at The State’s Midlands all-area boys golf team and players of the year for the 2025 season.

All-Area Boys Golf Team

Marcus Bradley, Hammond: Sophomore had a 36 average in nine-hole matches, 71 in 18-hole matches and finished fourth in the SCISA 4A golf championship.

Nathanael Caughman, River Bluff: Senior had a 74.9 scoring average and was runner-up in Class 5A Division I championship in helping the Gators to their first state title. Caughman was selected to North-South All-Star matches and signed to play at Columbia International.

Charles Cauthen, AC Flora: Senior had 71.6 scoring average and was medalist in three different tournaments. Cauthen finished sixth at the Class 4A state championship and was picked for the North-South All-Star team (but couldn’t play). He is the sixth-ranked player according to S.C. Junior Golf Association rankings and signed with Kentucky.

Teddy Dunn, Gray Collegiate: Senior had a 72 scoring average and was medalist at Class 4A Lower State championship. Dunn finished 10th at the state tournament and signed to play at Mercer.

Harrison James, Chapin: Senior had a 72.2 scoring average and was medalist in four different tournaments, including Region 4-5A championship and Class 5A Division II Lower State in which he shot a 7-under 65. He finished ninth at the state championship tournament, is the ninth-ranked player according to S.C. Junior Golf Association rankings and signed to play at Coastal Carolina.

Dylan Leicht, Lexington: Senior had a nine-hole scoring average of 37.1. Leicht tied for 13th at Class 5A Division I state championship and was a North-South All-Star selection.

Grant Paolucci, Blythewood: Senior had a 73 scoring average and was co-medalist at Class 5A Division I Upper State championship and 11th at state championship. Paolucci was a North-South All-Star selection and signed to play at Army.

James Rhodes, AC Flora: Senior had a 74.1 scoring average and finished eighth at the Class 4A state championship. He was a North-South All-Star selection and is signed to play at Presbyterian.

Brady Senn, Gilbert: Sophomore had a 75.1 scoring average and tied for medalist in Region 4-4A tournament but lost in a playoff. Senn finished eighth in the Class 4A Lower State championship and 20th at the state tournament.

John Thompson, Spring Valley: The senior won the Region 4-5A championship in a playoff, finished seventh in Class 5A Division I state championship and was selected to play in North-South golf matches.

Howie Vroon, River Bluff: Junior had a 72.6 scoring average and was medalist at two tournaments including Class 5A Division I Upper State. Vroon finished sixth at the Class 5A championship in helping the Gators to their first state title.

Connor Wolfe, Heathwood Hall: Eighth-grader had a 35.4 scoring average for nine holes and was medalist at SCISA 1-4A tournament and runner-up at SCISA Class 4A tournament.
