Country music superstar Brad Paisley will play a free concert Friday in Columbia to celebrate the opening of the new University of South Carolina Alumni Center.

The show is part of Paisley’s Country Nation College Tour and will feature Nashville country singer Eric Paslay. The show and grand opening of the alumni center takes place during USC’s Homecoming Week and precedes Saturday’s football game against Vanderbilt.

Concert attendees should wear their My Carolina Alumni Association-issued wristbands. The concert is 7:30-10 p.m. The Alumni Center is at 900 Senate St.

Parking and traffic

Traffic will be heavy with the Brad Paisley concert at the Alumni Center in the Vista, along with the Def Leppard concert at Colonial Life Arena.

USC is offering park and ride shuttle service to the two concerts.

Shuttles will begin at the Pendleton Street and Senate Street garages at 5 p.m. and end one hour after the last event ends. Shuttles will drop off on Park Street, near the Colonial Life Arena and the Alumni Center. The cost of the shuttle is $3 per rider. Both garages can be accessed at the 1000 block of Pickens Street.

Allow at least 15 minutes for shuttle transports.
