Darius Rucker touring with these country music stars, here’s where you can see them
Good news Darius Rucker fans, the former Hootie & The Blowfish front man turned country music star has announced a summer tour.
Bad news, the three-time Grammy winner and co-headliners Lady Antebellum don’t have a scheduled performance in South Carolina.
Of the 30 concerts they are set to perform, the closest Rucker and Lady Antebellum will come to South Carolina is an Oct. 5 performance in Charlotte.
Other regional dates on the “Summer Plays On” tour includes a Sept. 27 stop in Alpharetta, Ga. and an Oct. 4 performance in Raleigh. The 3-month tour will kick off in Toronto in July.
Rucker and Lady Antebellum will be joined by special guest Russell Dickerson, and the groups have teased some spontaneous collaborations during the performances, billboard.com reported.
“Reuniting this summer and heading back out on the road with my friends Lady Antebellum and Russell Dickerson feels like a home away from home!!” Rucker wrote on Twitter.

“Darius is one of our closest friends, and so we just feel really excited to get to share this tour and those memories on and off stage with him,” Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum said in a statement.
Tickets for the tour will go on sale on Jan. 26.
Rucker, a Gamecocks superfan, recently performed during a pregame concert for the College Football Playoff championship game.
The Charleston native and bandmates formed Hootie & the Blowfish while they were students at the University of South Carolina. The Hootie & the Blowfish album “Cracked Rear View” went platinum 16 times in the U.S., became the best-selling album of 1995, and was one of the fastest-selling debut albums of all time.
