Alodia’s Italian coming to Lexington’s Main Street
Owners of Alodia’s Cucina Italiana will be bringing one of the first new restaurants to the Town of Lexington as a byproduct of the town’s new vision plan and completion of Project Icehouse Amphitheater, Greater Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center and Town of Lexington officials confirmed Tuesday.
Alodia’s opened at 2736 N. Lake Drive in the Publix-anchored shopping center in Columbia in 2008. The restaurant was the first for proprietor Adam Huneau who named the restaurant in honor of his great grandmother and who set the menu of authentic Italian cuisine--including homemade sauces and Abruzzo pastas--in homage to his family’s Italian heritage.
Alodia’s new location will be in a leased space on the first floor of the Shirey’s Building at 101 W. Main St. which had fallen in ill repair and was recently purchased and underwent a $1.3 million renovation. The restaurant will overlook the town’s new Project Icehouse Amphitheater which is expected to open Oct. 11. No open date has been set for Alodia’s.
