Columbiana Centre store sets opening date; 2 other stores begin remodeling
Forever 21's Riley Rose cosmetics store will officially open March 9 at Columbiana Centre off Harbison Boulevard, according to mall general manager Andrew Peach.
Riley Rose was created by the parent company of popular youth apparel store Forever 21. At Columbiana Centre, Riley Rose will occupy space previously held by The Limited on the opposite side of the mall from its sister Forever 21, which is located at the mall's main front entrance. (All locations of The Limited closed nationwide last year).
Columbiana is one of 13 regional shopping centers selected by Riley Rose, which is being launched through a partnership with General Growth Properties — the current owner and operator of the mall — and the youth-focused fashion retailer Forever 21 Inc.
Other changes at Columbiana include the temporary closing of Build-a-Bear, which is operating from a kiosk while the store undergoes a major remodelong. The new store is slated to be unveiled in eight to 10 weeks, Peach said.
And American Eagle will soon shut down for a major remodeling which, once complete, will include its Aerie lingerie line. That remodeling is expected to take place in March.
What else is new at the mall? A Dick Dyer Mercedes featuring a Gamecock garnet exterior and leather tan interior is now parked outside Dave & Busters with another Mercedes potentially slated to be parked outside Dillard's in the near future, said Peach, who added that the vehicles are the first ones to be placed inside the mall with ties to a local dealer.
"It's just a new partnership and sponsorship that adds another upscale element to the mall," Peach said.
