Power being restored quickly after unexplained outage
Some 20,000+ SCE&G customers in Richland County were thrown into the dark late Saturday night.
There was no explanation from the giant utility for the outage which struck after 11:00 p.m.
The weather, often the cause of power outages in the region, was calm at the time of the blackout.
The person answering the 24-hour emergency number said information would not be available until after 6am Sunday.

The outage apparently was not long lived.
Shortly before midnight, residents began tweeting that power was coming back on. At 12:15 a.m. SCE&G reported 85 outages remaining in Richland County.
